World Teachers’ Day 2019: World Teacher’s Day which is also known as the International Teacher’s Day falls on October 5. The day was established in 1994 and it commemorates the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation that concerns and addresses the situations of teachers around the world. The day primarily focuses on appreciating, assessing and improving the education of the world. It provides an opportunity to consider all the issues related to teachers and teaching.

This year will be the 22nd anniversary of UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Higher Education Teaching Personnel. Themes on World Teacher’s Day
Every year the celebration commemorates the recommendation of UNESCO and every year the celebration has a particular theme. In the year 2017 when the whole world was celebrating the 20th anniversary, the world celebrated the theme of “Empowering Teachers”. For the year 2018, the theme of the World Teacher’s Day was “The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher.” The theme commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It served as a reminder that the right to education cannot be realized without trained and qualified teachers. The theme for the year 2019 will be revealed soon. It is not yet known.
