South Korean Actress Jeon Mi-seon Found Dead In Her Hotel Room, Initial Investigation Suspected Suicide

               South Korean actress Jeon Mi-seon was found dead in a hotel room on June 29, Saturday morning. The 48-year-old actress acted in several blockbuster television dramas which also comprises of The Moon Embracing The Sun.

As per to the Yonhap News Agency reports, the actress for two days for work was supposed to stay at the hotel in North Jeolla province’s Jeonju, which is about 240km from Seoul.

Her body was found after her manager called the police to report that the actress had gone missing. The Police have started their investigation immediately but till now the cause of death is not yet confirmed, though the police are investigating the case under suspicion of suicide.

In her hotel room where the incident occurred, there was no sign of a break in or murder as well as the actress was reportedly suffering from depression that made the investigator think that Jeon may possibly have committed suicide as per their initial investigation report.

A detailed investigation into her death is in progress and investigators are trying to explore every angle to this case.

As per to the schedule of Jeon, she was the plan to perform in a theatre play at the Samsung Culture Centre of Chonbuk National University in Jeonju. The show was then canceled on Saturday after the news of her death.

The veteran actress was very well known for her various roles in television shows including Five Fingers and The Moon That Embraces the Sun. Jeon was also seen in the latest series named Andante, as well as in feature films After Spring and the forthcoming drama The King’s Letters, that has been directed by Jo Chul-Hyun. The film is also set for release in the next month on late July.

Jeon was born in the year 1972 in South Korea and started her performance career in 1990 in Sung-Hong Kim’s Geurae gaggeum haneueul boja. From there, the actress got several roles in various films that comprise of Memories of Murder and Bungee Jumping of Their Own, before performing in a regular appearance in TV series Hwang Jin Yi.

For the period of her career that almost extend over 30 years, Jeon received many awards in her home country counting numerous KDS Drama Awards and recognitions from the Golden Cinema Festival and Korean Culture as well as Entertainment Awards.

A funerary hall has been set up for Jeon at Asan Medical Center in Seoul.
