Fleabag Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Trailer: After the Fleabag’s huge success and popularity, Phoebe Waller-Bridge turns out to be a comedy sensation. Fleabag is a British comedy-drama television series which is set in London. The series was initially produced by Two Brothers Pictures for the digital channel BBC Three in a co-production contract with Amazon Studios. The series was first premiered on 21 July 2016.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge who is the creator of the show also plays the lead role of a protagonist, Fleabag, an angry, confused and sexually insatiable young woman living in London. The program is mainly known for “breaking the fourth wall” when the key character talks to the camera.
On the subject of the eponymous character Fleabag, creator, as well as writer of the series Phoebe Waller-Bridge, says, “Fleabag’s a control freak who wants to convince you everything’s OK. It’s a kind of tortured complexity that we’ve all felt – it would be described as ‘mysterious’ and ‘sexy’ for a male character, but can be labeled as ‘difficult’ or ‘needy’ from women. We have waves of contradictory feelings, but feel a responsibility to look like everything’s in hand.”
Fleabag Season 2 Cast
Like the first season, Phoebe Waller-Bridge stars as the eponymous character, Fleabag, in the show. Other than that Andrew Scott, Fiona Shaw, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Ray Fearon joined the cast for Season 2.
Andrew Scott is playing the role of The Priest
Fiona Shaw is playing the role of Fleabag’s counselor
Kristin Scott Thomas is playing the role of Belinda
Ray Fearon is playing the role of a “Hot Misogynist”
Phoebe Waller-Bridge said this about Fleabag’s relationship with The Priest that “It really resonated with me, the idea of an atheist trying to find meaning in a world where everything seems so confusing. I really wanted somebody who would challenge Fleabag, a character that she couldn’t reduce to a kind of anecdote like she could with so many of the other characters in the last series.”
Fleabag Season 2 Release Date
Phoebe Waller-Bridge earlier said that she was uncertain of creating a second season, but then had an idea about how to take the story from the first season onward. Her reluctance to carry on the series is the cause of why there is a three-year gap in the middle of the two seasons.
On the other hand, she also said that there is a strong chance that Season 2 will turn out to be the final season of the series. Though, we can say that if Waller-Bridge truly arises upon a method to take Fleabag’s story forward, we may possibly see a third season as well. However no such news has been raised in this regard, we shall update this segment as soon as certain solid news comes our way. ‘Fleabag’ Season 2 is going to premiere on May 17, 2019. There are going to be the total number of six episodes in season 2 and all the six episodes are going to arrive on the same day.
