Design
The smartphone designs were posted by Xiaomi’s CEO on the website in China. However, the designs were not official but gave a hint of the basic design. Mi 9 will come with a double coated metal back which would come in a number of colors. The blue colored model was displayed in the picture. Being a flagship model, we expect a high-end build quality. Moreover, the smartphone will have a complete metal body. A notch display is also expected.
Specifications & Camera
One of the biggest rumor about Mi 9 is that it will be having a Snapdragon 855 processor. It is confirmed that Mi 9 will be powered by this Snapdragon 855 CPU which is much faster than any other Mi smartphones. Hence, Mi 9 is going to be a complete beast in terms of performance. Additionally, the processor is capable of including some big features like 5G.
The rear camera is placed on the left-hand side top corner vertically. It is believed that Mi 9 will be having a 48 MP camera. However, this is not confirmed. One lens will expectedly have a Sony sensor. It will be somewhere similar to the camera setup found on Honor View 20. The picture leaked did not have a fingerprint sensor. Hence, we are convinced that Mi 9 will have an on-screen fingerprint sensor, making it one of the few Mi devices to have this feature.
Announcements and Launch
It is quite possible that the official launch of MI 9 will take place at MWC 2019, which is to be held at the end of February. The event is going to be held in Spain. Xiaomi’s CEO officially mentioned on his Twitter post that he would further disclose the details on 24th February 2019. Being a flagship model, Mi 9 might be a competitor of devices like OnePlus 6T.
