The World Financial Group Continental Cup tournament is going to held on 17th January 2019. This is going to be a four day tournament at well-known Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, Las Vegas. The competition will conclude on 20th January 2019. Curling Canada has retained this event and is being functioned through a business procedure with USA Curling and the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition.
World Financial Group Continental Cup Format
This time new format is followed in this edition of the tournament. There is the total number of sixty points available in this edition of the Continental Cup format which is further distributed.
For teams, there will be 6 games with 1 point which makes a total of 6 points. In mixed doubles, there will be 12 games and each will be of 1 point, that makes total 12 points. In team scramble there be a total number of 6 games and each will be of 1 point which makes 6 points in total. In mixed team scramble, total games will be 3 which comprises of 2 points which lead to 6 points in total. In skins, total games are 6 and each game comprises of 5 points which makes the total points of 30. Thus, in total it makes 33 games and 60 points in total.
Under this format, the total of traditional team games is being reduced. Now, each team will play in only one traditional team game as a replacement for the three in previous years. There is going to be an added mixed doubles draw, removing the preparation of taking the third mixed doubles game comprising of two join up of players who shift later four ends of play. This, in turn, makes sure that all squads are indulged in one full mixed doubles game.
The following two new added events are the team scramble and mixed team scramble. The team scramble is going to be a combination of the traditional teams into same-gender line-ups. Front-end, as well as back-end co-players, are not allowed to be together. But a back-end participant may play with a front-end co-player.
The mixed teams scramble is going to use mixed teams where at least a single team for each side skipped from a female. There is going to be one men’s team scramble draw as well as one women’s team scramble draw. With every single game means one point and every single game in the single mixed scramble draw value two points.
World Financial Group Continental Cup Events
There are going to be three matches in every draw and each draw times are scheduled in Pacific Daylight Time (UTC−7:00). There are in general two teams such as team North America and team world and the draw matches will be held between these two teams at different dates and time.
