WiFi 6 is the upgraded version of Wi-fi 5, which we currently use. Is it coming anytime soon?
WiFi 6 may arrive as soon as 2019. You will be amazed to know that the new Snapdragon 855 processor is capable of integrated WiFi 6. Qualcomm has broken all the records and has introduced the flagship 855 processor which supports both 5G and WiFi 6. Hence, it is quite expected that the upcoming smartphones might have new technology. There are already many Smartphone manufacturers who have announced the launch of Smartphones with the flagship Snapdragon 855 processor.
How fast is Wi-Fi 6?
Theoretically, the speed capacity is 9 Gbps approximately. WiFi 5 has a capacity of up to 4 Gbps. However, these are completely theoretical and has no relation with actual speed. Even WiFi 5 can run only around 20% of what it says. Hence, the actual speed of WiFi 6 can be expected to be around 50% more than the existing WiFi version. Hence, we will be using the high-speed 5G network, as well as, WiFi 6 by the end of 2019.
