            Pancake Day (Shrove Tuesday) is the perfect day to invite your friends for eating stacks of delicious pancakes and enjoy pancakes with your own family. In the Christian religion, Pancake day is also known as pancake Tuesday shrove, Fat Tuesday, and Mardi Gras. It is last day of feasting before Lent begins on the following day, Ash Wednesday.

It is traditional customs of eating pancake on this day thas why it is called Pancake day. It is a tradition that comes from history time when any remaining rich fatty food was eaten on the day before Lent to use them up and fasting begins.

The region where it celebrated mainly are  English -speaking countries, especially Ireland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and also in the Philippines and Germany also.

The Date on which it is celebrated is not fixed it is determined by Easter. and it is celebrated exactly 47 days before Easter Sunday. It can come as early as February 3rd to as late as March 9th.

In many Christian Churches a popular Shrove Tuesday tradition is the ringing of the church bells” to call the faithful to confession before the solemn season of Lent’and for the people to ‘begin frying their pancakes”

Recipe for Making Pancake

To make 8 or so You will need 8oz plain flour,2 large eggs, 1-pint milk, salt.

Mix all together and whisk well. Leave to still for 30 minutes. Heat a little oil in a pan, pour enough batter to cover the base of the pan and let it cook until the base of the pancake has browned. then shake the pan to loosen the pancake and flip the pancake over brown to another side.

Why do we flip Pancakes?

The pancakes have a very long history as far back as 1439. the tradition of tossing or flipping them is almost as old.

According to legend, the tradition was born in the 15th century when a woman in Buckinghamshire rushed to the church to confess her sins while through the way making pancakes.
