2019 Six Nations Championship

      The 2019 Six Nations Championship is going to start soon from 1st February 2019. The tournament is also known as the Guinness Six Nations as Guinness sponsored the championship every year. This is going to be the 20th series of the Six Nations Championship, the yearly northern hemisphere rugby union championship.

The championship is going to participate amongst England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. The defending champions of 2019 Six Nations Championship are Ireland who has also won the Grand Slam in 2018.

The championship is going to be the 125th edition of the competition which also includes all the competition’s preceding forms as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship.

2019 Six Nations Championship: Format

  • There will be four match points which are going to be awarded for a win and two match points for a draw.
  • A bonus match point is granted to a squad that marks four or more tries in a match or loses a match from seven points or less. At this situation they will be awarded individually bonus points.
  • Three bonus match points will be granted to a team that victories all five of their matches also known as a Grand Slam.
  • If two or more teams be tied on match points, then the team with the superior point’s variance is graded upper. Also if this tiebreaker be unsuccessful to discrete tied teams, then the team that recorded the higher number of total tries in their matches is graded upper.
  • If two or more teams continue to be tied for first place at the conclusion of the competition after putting on the above stated tiebreakers, then the title is shared amongst them.
