Microsoft has announced the official launch of the HoloLens 2 on 24th February 2019, just before the Mobile World Congress 2019. HoloLens 2 Expectations
The HoloLens 2 will be a device completely based on artificial intelligence. Microsoft has been working aggressively on the AI front. Additionally, it is more or less confirmed that HoloLens 2 is going to have a completely new artificial intelligence based coprocessor. Hence, things are going to be better and smoother compared to its predecessor. Moreover, it is strongly expected that Microsoft will be choosing the Snapdragon 850 processor or something very closely for the hololens 2.
The ARM chips are more favourable for augmented reality devices. However, it would require the installation of Intel atoms and we did not expect that Microsoft will be used in the Windows operating system for this device. Researchers found out that Microsoft had lately filed a patent which looked somewhat similar to the HoloLens 2. It shows a circular device with a number of features and other markings mentioned on it. We expect that there would be 2 in-depth camera sensors which would be boosted by artificial intelligence. This will help the device to interpret the images around it quickly and show the results.
Price
The pricing strategy for HoloLens has been very aggressive. The first ever hololens cost a whopping $5000. However, the new patent and other significant improvements have promised that the prices would be lower than the predecessor. We expect that HoloLens 2 will you be available for $3000 or more. Things word completely become transparent on 24th February 2019, when the company will launch the device over the live event. Hence, it is going to be a very important day.
