Karthik was selected over Pant, on this Amitabh Choudhury said: “We discussed that Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant will only play if MS Dhoni is injured, hence the keeping skills were considered,”. Also, it was declared that four medium pacers are to going to travel with the team separately from the 15.
