The 15-man Indian team squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 was declared on Monday, April 15 with Virat Kohli to lead the team with Rohit Sharma as his second-in-command. Karthik was selected over Pant, on this Amitabh Choudhury said: “We discussed that Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant will only play if MS Dhoni is injured, hence the keeping skills were considered,”. Also, it was declared that four medium pacers are to going to travel with the team separately from the 15.
