                Happy Fathers Day History, Significance, Origin: Father’s Day is celebrated every year in order to commemorate the efforts and contributions of fathers in society. A Father is someone who will sacrifice everything for his family and children just to make and see them happy, he will do everything to make his family happy no matter what.

The earliest Father’s Day celebration goes back to date back to at least the Middle Ages in Catholic Europe and it is observed on March 19, as the feast day of Saint Joseph, who is denoted to as the fatherly Nutritor Domini (“Nourisher of the Lord”) in Catholicism as well as “the putative father of Jesus” in the tradition of southern European.

Outside Catholic traditions, Father’s Day was not celebrated in the US up till the 20th century. As a public celebration in the US, the day was established in the early 20th century to accompaniment Mother’s Day by celebrating fathers as well as male parenting.

After successful promotion of Mother’s Day by Anna Jarvis’ in Grafton, West Virginia, the first celebration of a “Father’s Day” was observed on July 5, 1908, in Fairmont, West Virginia, in the Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South, at present it is known as Central United Methodist Church.

In December 1907, the Monongah Mining Disaster in neighboring Monongah killed the total number of 361 men out of which 250 of them were fathers, which then leaves almost a thousand fatherless children. Grace Golden Clayton one of them was mourning the loss of her father and suggested that her pastor Robert Thomas Webb honor all those fathers and from then the day was established.

Father’s Day is a celebration paying tribute and honoring fathers as well as celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society. Every father is special and amazing; he is the one who works every day without taking any break just to make his family happy. The love and care of a father can’t be compared with anyone else, he is unique and irreplaceable. Well, the role of a father is so important in everyone’s lives that just one day is not enough to thank him. He is very special and you should always celebrate Father’s day by honoring him no matter what. The day also complements similar celebrations honoring family members, such as Mother’s Day, Siblings Day and Grandparents’ Day.
