
The most awaited 2019 Australian Open is finally going to start its Grand Slam tennis tournament. The tournament is going to take place at Melbourne Park from 14 January 2019. This amazing tournament will conclude on 27 January 2019. The main sponsor of the tournament is Kia which has been the main sponsor of the competition from previous years too.
This Grand Slam tennis tournament is going to be the 107th edition of the Australian Open, the 51st in the Open Era as well as the first Grand Slam of the year. The competition comprises of various events for proficient and skilled players such as singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Junior and wheelchair players are also going to participate in singles and doubles competitions.
Roger Federer is the defending champion in Melbourne and acquires his battle proceeding against Denis Istomin whereas Caroline Wozniacki is the women’s singles defending champion respectively.
This is going to be the first Australian Open to initiate final set tie-breaks, which is going to be presented in the entire match layouts. If the competition touches 6-6 in the final set, the leading player to score 10 points will win the match.
After the third set in the men’s competitions, a 10 minute break time for the heat will be permitted for the first time ever. However full schedule list is not yet announced but for day one and day two the schedule has been allotted.
