About the Movie

Aladdin is a 2019 American musical fantasy film which is directed by Guy Ritchie, he also co-wrote the screenplay with John August. The movie is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and stars Mena Massoud, Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, and Billy Magnussen in the lead roles.

Aladdin made its world premiere on May 8, 2019, at the Grand Rex in Paris, France. After which it was released on May 24, 2019, in 3D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, after switching the original date set for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

On the other hand, Aladdin’s first regional premiere was in Jordan on May 13, 2019, in the company of Prince Ali bin Hussein and Princess Rym Ali.

Aladdin’s Worldwide Box Office Collection So Far

In the United States as well as Canada, Aladdin was released together with Booksmart and Brightburn and is estimated to gross around $80 million from 4,476 theatres over its four-day opening weekend.

The film revolves around Aladdin, who is a street urchin and finds a magic lamp and must use it to win over Princess Jasmine and overthrow the conspiring vizier Jafar.

The movie is a live-action edition of Disney’s 1992 animated film under the same name, which was based on the eponymous Middle-Eastern fairy tale from the One Thousand and One Arabian Nights.
