                  Mother Nature is life. It gives us life. wildlife is the thing which makes earth different than other planets. But we humans are the only species who are destroying it. So it is our responsibility to aware and takes action to save our mother earth. On this world, Wildlife Day join the movement and take responsibilities in our hands.

World Wildlife Day: When it is celebrated?

World Wildlife day is celebrated on 3rd of March every year. On this day we put lights on the issues which are environment facing. Just like Global warming, deforestation and decreasing the land mass of wildlife. Its purpose is to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s Flaura and Fauna.

On 20 December 2013, at its 68th session, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) decided to proclaim 3 March, the day of the adoption of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES), as World Wildlife Day, which was proposed by Thailand. to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s Flora and Fauna.

In its resolution, the general assembly reaffirmed the intrinsic value (calculated value of a company, including tangible and intangible factors) of wildlife. The assembly also focuses on the contribution of wildlife and step should be taken to preserve it. It includes Ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural to sustainable development and well beings of the human.

What is the theme of World Wildlife day 2019?

The theme for this year is “Life Below Water for people and planet” which aligns with goal 14 of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Marine life

The ocean contains nearly 200,000 identified species, but there are millions more to explore. Globally, the market od marine and coastal resources and industries are estimated at US$3 trillion per year. Over three billion people depend on marine for their living.

The marine life below the water is heavily affected by humans. 40% of the oceans and the species that live within it facing the threat of overexploitation, pollution, loss of coastal habitats and climate change. Coastal communities which depend on it for their living are also heavily affected.

What Is the Purpose of Theme World Wildlife Day 2019?

It is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the diversity of marine life, the importance of marine species to human development. We can share the visions to make sure how this marine life will continue to provide these services for future generations.

What to do on this day?

Schools can organize functions and events so all the students of schools can be aware of wildlife. The situation which our nature facing now and the issues which are needed to resolve. The young mind needs to know the situation of nature so they can create a better world for future generations. Private Organizations can gather people and can discuss issues relating worldwide and They can also create events, organize a rally so people can be aware.

World Wildlife Day living oceans film showcase 

Stories about marine species and ecosystems will hit the big screen and your mobile phone when the world celebrates World Wildlife Day 2019. The Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), will team up to organize an International Film showcase which focuses on marine life.
