
YouTuber Daniel Desmond “Etika” Amofah who has been missing from past few days is feared dead after his belongings were found along Manhattan Bridge in New York City.
Before going missing, he uploaded a video and a message on YouTube at midnight that seems to be a “suicide note.” Though the video has been removed from YouTube in that video which was titled I’m Sorry”, he was captured saying that the “world would be better off without” him
Soon after he posted the video, his friends, as well as colleagues, have been trying to contact him including YouTuber Keemstar among them, whom he talks about in the clip soon after saying “the world will be better off without me”.
Etika, whose real name was Daniel Desmond Amofah, apologized for his past actions over and over again and also said that “I don’t know what awaits me on the other side, but I’m ready to face it.”
His some of the friends have reported that Etika’s phone was going to voicemail for quite a few hours but after sometime, it again started ringing. Though, no one is said to have responded the calls to his phone.
The YouTuber was detained by the NYPD earlier this year after making suicide references in the course of an Instagram Live stream.
The Police officials who had been trying to search for the 29-year-old since he was last heard on Wednesday at 8 pm, discovered some of his personal stuff yesterday along the Manhattan Bridge that night, which also comprises of his driving license, cell phone, wallet as well as several cards.
NYPD through the twitter asked some help from the general public regarding Etika, they tweeted, “Have you seen Desmond Amofah aka Etika? He was last heard from June 19 at about 8 PM by phone. He is 29 years old, approx 6 feet tall, and 160 lbs. He is a known @YouTube blogger and has many people concerned after a recent video. Call @NYPDTips anonymously with info 800-577-TIPS”
A Nintendo Switch as well as a laptop bag also believed to be his — comprises of boxer shorts, a shirt, shorts as well as headphones were also found by the police officials.
A fellow YouTuber Keemstar who is also Erika’s friend and was also mentioned by Etika in his I’m Sorry video, at first said by tweeting that Etika’s disappearance may have been a prank. But when the Police found Etika’s items at the Manhattan Bridge, he now feared the worst, posting a message saying: “I think we lost him, guys.”
He tweeted, “At the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday night, cops found @Etika ‘s driver’s license, & other cards and his wallet.
Cops found his cell phone, a black & red Nintendo Switch & laptop bag that was his. NYPD sources said. (I think we lost him guys)”
In Keemstar recent tweet he pleaded Etika to respond and interact with someone if he is all right, he tweeted, “Dear @Etika , listen, man, if you can see this right now please let the internet know you are alive. Yes, some people will be mad but trust me way more people will be happy to know you are alive & safe somewhere.”
