Body Found In A Wooded Area of ​​Mont-Laurier

A corpse was found Thursday morning in a wooded area along Highway 117 in Mont Laurier, in the Laurentians.

It was a woman who contacted the emergency services after the body was discovered at about 9 am.

Upon arrival at the scene, the police located the body and immediately found the death, as it was an obvious death.

Because of the state of the body, authorities were able to establish that the body had been there for several days.

“For the time being, this is considered a suspicious death,” said Sergeant Marc Tessier, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec.

An autopsy should be performed on the body to determine the exact cause of death.

The police have yet to reveal the sex of the victim.

An inquiry was opened to establish the circumstances of the death.
